<br />.; C <br />f...I _ _ <br /> <br />TUESDAY <br /> <br />SEPTEMBER 28, 1976 <br /> <br />-,,,,- <br /> <br />bidders who will provide labor and materials to construct and/or relocate that <br /> <br />portion of the City's Electric System required to be constructed and relocated <br /> <br />in connection with the Brookda1e Road highway construction project. Total cost <br /> <br />of said labor and materials was listed at $35,117.07, against which it is <br /> <br />estimated that the City will be reimbursed the sum of $14,432.19 by said State <br /> <br />Department of Highways & Transportation. <br /> <br />"..-. <br /> <br />Also upon motion, duly seconded and unanimously carried, Council authorized <br /> <br />City Manager Noland to execute a contract with the firm of Finney & Blackard, <br /> <br />involving this firm's new subdivision (consisting of 56 lots) off Clearview <br /> <br />Drive, by which the City will install water facilities at an estimated cost <br /> <br />of $22,000.00 and sewer facilities at an estimated cost of $34,000.00. <br /> <br />Council also authorized City Manager Noland to execute an agreement with the <br /> <br />Norfolk & Western Railway Company, setting forth conditions by which the City <br /> <br />will cross the railway company's right-of-way (MF R-68, plus 4305') with a <br /> <br />sewer line to serve the new Roy Stone Subdivision off Rives Road Extended. <br /> <br />Subject to approval by the appropriate Federal agency, Council authorized the <br /> <br />City's voter registration office to open said office, for voter registration, <br /> <br />from 6:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. on Friday, October 1, 1976. <br /> <br />City Manager Noland reported that a reduction (by three) in Fire Departmental <br /> <br />personnel is being effected and that these three men have obtained employment <br /> <br />....-.., <br /> <br />either with other City departments or in private industry. <br />
