<br />r;-o. <br />v' <br /> <br />TUESDAY <br /> <br />SEPTEMBER 7, 1976 <br /> <br />terminates the agreement within the first year, lessor will pay to the City <br /> <br />a prorata amount of the City's development cost, based on the percentage of <br /> <br />the initial year the City has possession. The agreement further provides <br /> <br />that the lessor shall pay all real estate taxes assessed thereon except for <br /> <br />any increase of taxes caused by the City's improvements thereon. <br /> <br />Referring to occasions over the past years in which the City has tendered <br /> <br />expressions of cooperation with the County of Henry, particularly as to <br /> <br />Henry County's Courthouse and central administration building located in <br /> <br />the City and its motor vehicle parking needs, and as a gesture of good <br /> <br />will toward the citizens of Henry County and as an expression of the City's <br /> <br />desire that the Henry County Courthouse facility remain in the City, this <br /> <br />being subject to a referendum of Henry County voters at the forthcoming <br /> <br />November election, Councilman West (by motion) proposed that all downtown <br /> <br />metered parking spaces, plus the recently-developed non-metered lot diagonally <br /> <br />across from City Hall, be made available to the general public without charge <br /> <br />on each Saturday until January 1, 1977, suggesting that this "trial-run" <br /> <br />might lead to a more permanent plan, if successful. In connection with this <br /> <br />proposal, Traffic-Planning Director Irving R. McGhee verbally presented a <br /> <br />report of his findings with regard to parking needs of the Henry County <br /> <br />Courthouse-administration building as well as his suggestions by which these <br /> <br />needs, with the aid of the City, can be met. CBD Commission Chairman <br /> <br />George W. Brown (Assistant City Manager & Director of Public Works), while <br /> <br />concurring with the intent of Councilman West's proposal and mdtion, which <br /> <br />motion had been previously seconded by Councilman Oakes, recommended that any <br />
