In compliance with criteria established by the Secretary of Commerce of the United States in connection with voting precinct boundaries to be used by the U. S. Census Bureau in compiling 1980 census information, Council unanimously approved, for Mayor Fitz-Hugh's certification to the appropriate authorities, a map delineating the boundaries of the City's six voting precincts and, also, made a matter of record the metes and bounds of said precincts, as follows: Precinct III on the west east by the Bounded on the north by Memorial Boulevard, by the Corporate Limits, on the south and Norfolk & Western Railroad. Precinct #2 Bounded on the north by Commonwealth Boulevard and Carolina & Northwestern Railroad; on the east by the Corporate Limits; on the south and east by Spruce Street, Parkview Avenue, Mulberry Road, Va1leyview Road, and the Corporate Limits; and on the west by the Norfolk & Western Railroad, the west and north property lines of the Oakwood Cemetary, Barton Street, and Market Street (Elizabeth Street). Precinct #3 Bounded on the north and east by the Norfolk & Western Railroad, on the south and west by the Corporate Limits. Precinct #4 Bounded on the north, west, and east by the Corporate Limits; on the south by the Carolina & Northwestern Railroad and Commonwealth Boulevard. Precinct #5 Bounded on the north by Spruce Street; on the east and south by the Corporate Limits; and on the west by the Corporate Limits, Va1leyview Road, Mulberry Road, and Parkview Avenue. Precinct #6 Bounded on the north by Commonwealth Boulevard; on the east by Market Street, Barton Street, and the north and west property lines of Oakwood Cemetary; on the south by the Norfolk & Western Railroad and Memorial Boulevard; and on the west by the Corporate Limits.
