<br />,~ ~. <br />IP ,. r <br /> <br />~L:{ <br /> <br />TUESDAY <br /> <br />SEPTEMBER 7, 1976 <br /> <br />Martinsville Volunteer Fire Company's Application for a Special-Use Permit (filed <br /> <br />with Council on August 10, 1976) which, if issued, would allow applicant to <br /> <br />conduct its annual Firemen's Bazaar at Brown Street Field during the years <br /> <br />1977 through 1981, with closing hours of 12 midnight each night of the week-long <br /> <br />bazaars, upon the conditions that no gambling concessions and no "girlie" shows <br /> <br />will be allowed. <br /> <br />.-. <br /> <br />Upon motion, duly seconded and unanimously carried, Council authorized the <br /> <br />transfer of $3,987.00 from the General Fund's Emergency Account to the 1976-77 <br /> <br />budget for the office of the Commissioner of the Revenue, to provide sufficient <br /> <br />appropriations for the salaries of the Commissioner and his staff to parallel <br /> <br />1976-77 salaries authorized and approved by the State Compensation Board. <br /> <br />Upon motion, duly seconded and unanimously carried, Council reappointed <br /> <br />Mr. S. Sutton Flythe, Jr., Vice President of The First National Bank of <br /> <br />Martinsville & Henry County, to a new four-year term, effective September 26, <br /> <br />1976, on the City's Industrial Development Authority. <br /> <br />Upon motion, duly seconded and unanimously carried, Council appointed <br /> <br />Councilmen Barry A. Greene and L. D. Oakes as the City's councilmanic-members <br /> <br />of the West Piedmont Planning District Commission, succeeding Vice Mayor <br /> <br />Hobson, who asked that he not be reappointed, and former Councilman Morton W. <br /> <br />Lester, with Councilmen Greene's and Oakes' terms of membership on this <br /> <br />commission to be concurrent with their present terms as members of City <br /> <br />Council (i.e., Councilman Greene from September 1, 1976 through August 31, 1978, <br />
