In addition, Dr. Leizer presented

a detailed itemization of 1976-77 budget requests for this agency,

comparing same with those for the current year 1975-76, along with a

description of services being rendered the community by this agency.

Related to the foregoing, Mr. J. C. Ham Learning Center and the Patrick Henry Drug Control

Council, with a combined 1976-77 request of $20,596.00 as Martinsville's

share, or $2,857.00 more than initially requested, it being pointed out

that this combined request includes the $15,973.00 hereinabove referred

to for the Mental Hygiene Clinic. Mr. Wood also described the work of the

W. C. Ham Learning Center in its aid and services to the severely

handicapped persons of this area.

Pursuant to recommendation of the Planning Commission, Council called for

a duly-advertised public hearing to be conducted jointly by Council with

the Planning Commission, at Council's forthcoming June 22nd meeting, on

an application for a Special-Use Permit, as filed with the Commission by

the several Junior Chamber of Commerce (Jaycees) organizations in and

around Martinsvil1e, to allow for an "Old-Fashioned Fourth of July

Celebration" at Liberty Heights Fairgrounds.

____,__>_______.."""'.'4>'N.'_.'.,,~'""..W~<"..,~__"'~U_., ,,',
