<br />n"l <br />t3':f <br /> <br />TUESDAY <br /> <br />HAY 27, 1975 <br /> <br />time for same to reach Federal Revenue Sharing offices in Washington by <br /> <br />June 24, 1975, suggesting that Council determine its planned usage of <br /> <br />these funds at its forthcoming June 10th meeting. <br /> <br />City Manager Noland then presented copies of a tentative 1975-76 City Budget, <br /> <br />with Council authorizing and calling for a special meeting thereon at 3:00 P.M., <br /> <br />Monday, June 2, 1975, in the Council Chamber. <br /> <br />Upon request filed by the Martinsvi1le Volunteer Fire Company, Council granted <br /> <br />permission to this organization, pursuant to Special-Use Permit granted May 28, <br /> <br />1974, to conduct its 1975 Firemen's Bazaar at Liberty Heights Fairgrounds the <br /> <br />week of June 16th-21st, 1975. <br /> <br />Upon motion, duly seconded and unanimously carried, Council authorized the <br /> <br />Martinsville City School Board to lease its property, formerly identified as <br /> <br />the "East Martinsville School" property, on Route 58 East, to the "MARC Workshop" <br /> <br />organization for a period of ten years, renewable for one or two successive <br /> <br />ten-year periods up to a total of thirty years. Council, meanwhile, through <br /> <br />Councilman Lester, commended the volunteer sponsors of the MARC Workshop and <br /> <br />the members of this organization for its outstanding accomplishments and <br /> <br />success in the teaching and rehabilitating of local retarded and/or handicapped <br /> <br />persons. <br /> <br />Council unanimously authorized construction of sidewalk for some 350 feet along <br /> <br />the west side of Starling Avenue from Wilson Street to a point opposite Forest <br />
