<br />18 <br /> <br />TUESDAY <br /> <br />APRIL 22, 1975 <br /> <br />In acceptance of the Planning Commission's recommendations, Council unanimously <br /> <br />granted permission to Mr. M. J. Kilby to extend a City water line for a distance <br /> <br />of some forty-five feet to serve Lot No. 56 on Sunset Drive, in Henry County, <br /> <br />subject to all applicable requirements of the City's "R-9 Residential" zoning <br /> <br />regulations and to such other requirements as may be applicable. <br /> <br />In tentative acceptance of the Planning Commission's report and recommendation <br /> <br />Council called for a duly-advertised public hearing to be conducted at Council's <br /> <br />forthcoming May 27th meeting on the petition filed March 11, 1975 by Bennett & <br /> <br />Wilson, Inc., Realtors, requesting a "P-2 Professional" zoning of petitioner's <br /> <br />property at 814 Starling Avenue. <br /> <br />Council acknowledged receipt of a check from the Commonwealth of Virginia in the <br /> <br />amount of $1,384.56, representing a return or refund of a portion of the surplus <br /> <br />fund balance from fiscal 1973-74 of the Patrick Henry Mental Hygiene Clinic. <br /> <br />Council also acknowledged, and accepted with appreciation, a donation of <br /> <br />$6,400.00 from the Martinsville Community Recreation Association toward the cost <br /> <br />of lighting the Junior Pony League Field, this being a supplement to the amount <br /> <br />donated on November 12, 1974, which Council appropriated for the purpose donated <br /> <br />and specified. <br /> <br />The Reverend John H. Bartee, Jr., Associate Pastor of the local First United <br /> <br />Methodist Church, and Chairman of the local ministerially-sponsored project <br /> <br />hereinafter referred to, along with Miss Karen Sink, James Severt and Tommy Mitchell, <br />
