The State procurement

workshop for small businesses was a success and the one on Federal

procurement is scheduled for October 19.

There are currently six

manufacturing active prospects, four distribution, one office oriented and one

motor sports related.

Matthew Hankins, Communications Officer, reviewed the prepared lists

of legislative priorities for 2007. He indicated that the Chamber had requested

that we prepare two separate lists, one Federal and one State.

After

discussion, Council Member Anderson asked that we invite our legislators to a

special meeting to present our priorities to them in person. Matt Hankins

indicated if Council would let him have their available dates, he would arrange

such a meeting. The item will be placed on the next agenda for further

discussion and action by Council.
