<br />p <br />o <br /> <br />October 10, 2006 <br /> <br />Leon Towarnicki, Public Works Director, gave an overview of the city's <br /> <br />priority projects to be included in VDOT's Six Year Improvement Plan. After <br /> <br />discussion, Council Member Lawson made a motion to approve the following <br /> <br />list; the motion was duly seconded and carried by the following vote, all <br /> <br />members voting: Vote: 4-0. Yeas: (4) Reynolds, Clark, Anderson, Lawson. <br /> <br />Nays: (0) None. Absent (1) Ferrill. <br /> <br />1. Liberty Street Project consisting of 3 elements - (a) improvements to <br />Liberty from York to NCL; (b) improvements to Liberty from Clearview <br />south to Commonwealth; and (c) improvements to Clearview from <br />Barrows Mill Road to Progress Drive. <br /> <br />2. Widen and realign Fayette from Pine Hall west to the corporate limits <br />including curb, gutter & sidewalk and replacement of the N & W <br />underpass. <br /> <br />3. Extend Commonwealth Blvd. east to an intersection with East Church <br />Street. <br /> <br />4. Endorsement for the I-73 project. <br /> <br />5. Endorsement for completion of Route 58 westward to I-77. <br /> <br />City Manager Collins mentioned that he had received an e-mail from Kim <br /> <br />Adkins of the Chamber indicating that all required signatures for the <br /> <br />Programmatic Agreement for I-73 have been received and by November 1 the <br /> <br />Final Environmental Impact Statement will be posted on the Federal Register <br /> <br />for public review for 30 days. <br /> <br />Mayor Reynolds, Vice Mayor Clark and Council Members Anderson and <br /> <br />Lawson presented their Vision for the City for the year 2025. <br />
