Council Member Lawson moved to adopt, on first reading, <br /> <br />the Ordinance to rezone 1104, 1106, 1108, 1109, 1110, 1112, 1114, and 1115 <br /> <br />Fishel Street (Tax Map 47(01)00/02, 03 & 47(02)00j3A-3F), from M-2 <br /> <br />Industrial to R-9 Residential; the motion was duly seconded and carried by the <br /> <br />following roll call vote, with all members voting: Vote 5-0. Yeas (5) - Reynolds, <br /> <br />Clark, Anderson, Ferrill, Lawson. Nays (0) -None. Council Member Ferrill <br /> <br />moved to adopt, on first reading, the Ordinance to amend the Proposed Land <br /> <br />Use Map to indicate these parcels as Medium Density Residential rather than <br /> <br />the present designation of Industrial; the motion was duly seconded and <br /> <br />carried by the following roll call vote, with all members voting: Vote 5-0. Yeas <br /> <br />(5) - Reynolds, Clark, Anderson, Ferrill, Lawson. Nays (0) -None. <br /> <br />Council considered conducting a public hearing and adoption, on first <br /> <br />reading, of an Ordinance naming the newly constructed connector between the <br /> <br />existing Dudley Street and Fairy Street to Dudley Street. Wayne Knox, Director <br /> <br />of Community Development, explained that the original request was for the <br /> <br />short section of Fairy Drive to be renamed to Dudley Street. However, at the <br /> <br />Planning Commission Public Hearing, the owner of a large tract of land <br /> <br />adjoining Fairy Street spoke in opposition to the request and the Planning <br /> <br />Commission voted to recommend to Council that only the newly constructed <br /> <br />connector be named Dudley Street.
