<br />.'I ( ,) <br />~. ,.I i-..I <br /> <br />TUESDAY <br /> <br />JULY 8, 1980 <br /> <br />beginning July 1, 1980, is ineligible as a member-representative thereon from the <br /> <br />City of Martinsvi1le because he resides in Henry County, Council rescinded its May 13th <br /> <br />action and, at the same time, expressed pleasure upon learning that Mr. Stone, through <br /> <br />action by the Henry County Board of Supervisors, will serve on said Board as a <br /> <br />member-representative from Henry County. <br /> <br />No action was required of Council on a matter brought before Council by Commissioner <br /> <br />of the Revenue D. B. Hanel, dealing with the continued employment of two part-time <br /> <br />license enforcement officers, in whose salaries the State Compensation Board has <br /> <br />decided not to share, Council being informed that the City's 1980-81 budget anticipates <br /> <br />this decision. <br /> <br />With Councilman Reed abstaining, all other members of Council accepted for the City, <br /> <br />and with appreciation, a donation of $319.82 from Councilman Reed's councilmanic election <br /> <br />campaign fund (and treasurer) to be used for the purchase and planting of plants or <br /> <br />shrubbery suitable to the landscaping in front of City Hall. <br /> <br />Council agreed to meet in City Hall on Tuesday, July 22, 1980, at 2:30 P.M., preparatory <br /> <br />to conducting its annual tour of streets for which petitions have been received for <br /> <br />the construction of curb-and-gutter and/or sidewalks. <br /> <br />Upon several separate motions, duly seconded and unanimously carried, Council accepted <br /> <br />the several recommendations from City Manager Edmonds, identified as "elements" <br /> <br />encompassed in his Status Report*(dated July 3, 1980) on the City's current UDAG Water <br /> <br />Project(s) and verbally amended by Mr. Edmonds as to the recommended site for a proposed <br /> <br />ground-level water storage facility off Commonwealth Boulevard, between Fairy and <br /> <br />* See addendum to these minutes for City Manager Edmonds' Status Report. <br />
