<br />'l/' q <br /> <br />TUESDAY <br /> <br />JUNE 24, 1980 <br /> <br />registered their objections to the third site, which would be on the rear <br /> <br />have constructed professional-use buildings, claiming a depreciation of their <br /> <br />of a lot fronting Fairy Street, on which street both Dr. Smith and Dr. Baublitz <br /> <br />property values and, in the case of Dr. Baublitz, interference with the efficient <br /> <br />operation of solar units in Dr. Baublitz' building, City Engineer Phillip T. <br /> <br />Henry reported to Council, by letter dated June 20, 1980, that--in his opinion-- <br /> <br />the locating of the proposed water storage facility off Fairy Street would not <br /> <br />affect Dr. Baublitz' solar unit operation in any way, After some discussion, <br /> <br />"tabled") this matter. <br /> <br />Council--upon motion, duly seconded and unaminously carried--continued (i.e., <br /> <br />Also, pursuant to duly-advertised public notice, Council and the Planning <br /> <br />Commission (all of whose members were present) conducted a joint public hearing <br /> <br />on proposed revisions to the City's Comprehensive Plan and Land-Use Map, which <br /> <br />revisions would have become necessary if one of the foregoing proposed water <br /> <br />storage facility sites had been selected and (if) the requested Special-Use <br /> <br />Permit therefor had been issued. Inasmuch as Council took no action as to a <br /> <br />site selection and issued no Special-Use Permit, Council unanimously "tabled II <br /> <br />consideration of these proposed revisions. <br /> <br />Council interrupted its regular order of business to recognize and honor the <br /> <br />following City officials for their faithful and outstanding services to the City <br /> <br />during their tenures with the City: <br />(1) Mayor Hobson, who chose not to be a candidate in the recent councilmanic <br />election and whose term of office ends June 30, 1980, having served <br />continuously as a member of Council since 1968, as Vice-Mayor 1974-76, <br />and as Mayor since November 23, 1976; <br />(2) City Manager Noland, who will retire on June 30, 1980, having served <br />as City Manager since January 1, 1966; and <br />(3) Police Chief Frank A.
