<br />'~IO, <br />,iI , <br /> <br />TUESDAY <br /> <br />MAY 13, 1980 <br /> <br />north right-of-way line of Chestnut Street between Broad and Bridge Streets, <br /> <br />at no cost to the City but with a taxable value of $6,000.00. <br /> <br />Council was informed that State Senator Virgil Goode, through the State's <br /> <br />Legislative Services agency, will provide requested additional information on <br /> <br />certain legislation proposed to be considered by the 1981 Virginia General <br /> <br />Assembly. <br /> <br />Upon motion, duly seconded and unanimously carried, and in acceptance of the <br /> <br />Patrick Henry College Board's Nominating Committee's recommendations, Council <br /> <br />reappointed Messrs. H. Grady Moore, Jr., and Charles M. Stone to membership on <br /> <br />the PHCC Board for four-year terms beginning July 1, 1980. <br /> <br />Pursuant to sub-sections (I) and (6) of Section 2.1-344 of the CODE OF VIRGINIA <br /> <br />(1950, and as amended), and upon motion, duly seconded and unanimously carried <br /> <br />(by a recorded vote), Council convened into an Executive Session to consider <br /> <br />personnel matters and a legal matter. Upon completing this session, Council <br /> <br />reconvened into its regular session. <br /> <br />Upon motion, duly seconded and unanimously carried, Council authorized City <br /> <br />Attorney Worthy to institute litigation against the Northeastern Fire Insurance <br /> <br />Company (a Pennsylvania corporation) to enforce payment by said insurance <br /> <br />company of the cost of legal expenses incurred by the City and for any damages <br /> <br />which might be awarded in the on-going two false-arrest suits against the City <br /> <br />initiated by complainants in July of 1979, and January of 1980, with City Attorney <br />
