<br />,'.... ~' <br /> <br />4 j '-.J <br /> <br />TUESDAY <br /> <br />APRIL 22, 1980 <br /> <br />There being no objections to these recommended amendments or to the adoption of said <br /> <br />updated Flood Plain Maps, Council adopted (by reference) said amendments and said updated <br /> <br />Flood Plain Maps. <br /> <br />In tentative acceptance of the Planning Commission's reports and recommendations on <br /> <br />the following matters, Council established the following public hearing dates thereon: <br /> <br />- <br /> <br />(a) at Council's forthcoming May 13th meeting, the petition filed by <br />Mr. Ryland Richardson seeking the rezoning from "R-9 Residential" <br />to "M-3 Industrial" of the rear portion of his property which <br />fronts 72l~ Stultz Road, the rear lot line of which abuts <br />industrially-zoned property owned and occupied by American <br />Standard Homes; <br />(b) at Council's forthcoming May 27th meeting, the application <br />for a Special-Use Permit, as filed by the Martinsville <br />Volunteer Fire Company, to allow applicant to conduct and <br />sponsor the 1980 Firemen's Bazaar at Liberty Heights <br />Fairgrounds during the period June 25, 1980 through <br />July 6, 1980; and <br />(c) at Council's forthcoming May 27th meeting, the petition filed <br />by the Martinsville Athletic Club (through its counsel, Mr. <br />Benjamin R. Gardner, Attorney at Law) seeking a "C-3 <br />Commercial" zoning of two tracts of land situated along <br />Commonwealth Boulevard, one tract presently owned by Lester <br />Properties and the other tract presently owned by Hooker <br />Furniture Corporation. <br /> <br />Upon motion, duly seconded and unanimously carried, Council directed that a supplement <br /> <br />of $4,000.00 be included in the City's 1980-81 budget to be paid to Mr. John J. Hartley, <br /> <br />Commonwealth's Attorney, and to his Assistant Commonwealth's Attorney and to his <br /> <br />secretary (i.e., $2,000.00, $1,500.00, and $500.00 respectively), to be in addition to <br /> <br />those salaries yet to be established by the State Compensation Board for 1980-81. <br /> <br />Council tentatively approved the usage, beginning July 1, 1980, of the City's West <br /> <br />End Day Care Center Facility (to be discontinued as of June 30, 1980) by the <br />
