Carter, Jr., <br /> <br />and William W. Edwards, Jr., to membership on the City School Board for three-year terms <br /> <br />beginning July 1, 1979; (2) reappointed Mrs. M. O. (Lula) Johnson and Mr. Hal G. Prillaman <br /> <br />to membership on the Blue Ridge Regional Library Board for four-year terms beginning <br /> <br />July 1, 1979; (3) appointed The Reverend Jon Regen to membership on the Blue Ridge Regional <br /> <br />Library Board for a four-year term beginning July 1, 1979, succeeding Mrs. Fred V. Woodson, <br /> <br />Jr., who requested that she not be reappointed; and (4) unanimously nominated for <br /> <br />- <br /> <br />reappointment by the West Piedmont Planning District's Board of Commissioners the following <br /> <br />citizens to its following Policy Advisory Committees: <br /> <br />Criminal Justice Committee <br />Mrs. Jean Adams <br />Mrs. Claudia B. Caldwell <br /> <br />Housing Committee <br />Mrs. Emma S. Shultz <br /> <br />Public Service Committee <br />Mrs. John L. Manson <br /> <br />Physical Planning Committee <br />Mr. Richard A. Prillaman <br /> <br />Council deferred action on the Blue Ridge Regional Library's request, through Mrs. Betty <br /> <br />M. Ragsdale, Director, that Council adopt a resolution urging "full funding" of libraries <br /> <br />- <br /> <br />within the State of Virginia by the Commonwealth of Virginia pursuant to legislation enacted <br /> <br />by the Virginia General Assembly several years ago, (but) for which "full funding" <br /> <br />appropriations have not been made. <br /> <br />Council filed (for review at its next program allocation consideration) a petition seeking <br /> <br />curb-and-gutter on Foster Court and a petition seeking sidewalk construction along High <br /> <br />Street, near High Street Baptist Church. <br />
