<br />~, <br /> <br />:1 <br /> <br />TUESDAY <br /> <br />MARCH 27, 1979 <br /> <br />Circus at Liberty Heights Fairgrounds on May 10, 1979, the required public notice thereof <br /> <br />having already been scheduled for publication. <br /> <br />The Planning Commission also reported that it has acceded to the request of Fralin & <br /> <br />Waldron, through its attorney, to postpone the Commission's scheduled public hearing (for <br /> <br />March 15, 1979) to April 19, 1979, on this firm's recently-submitted Application for a <br /> <br />Special-Use Permit to allow applicant to construct a home for the elderly and/or <br /> <br />handicapped off the north side of Spruce Street. <br /> <br />The Planning Commission also notified Council that the Axton Investment Corporation <br /> <br />(through its attorney) has withdrawn its recent request for the rezoning of petitioner's <br /> <br />property situated on the south side of Route 220 North. <br /> <br />Upon motion, duly seconded and unanimously carried, Council adopted the following resolution, <br /> <br />recommended by the Martinsville-Henry County Clean Community Commission, proclaiming the <br /> <br />month of April (1979) as "Martinsville-Henry County Clean-Up Month": <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Martinsville and the County of Henry desire to <br />improve the physical quality of community life; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Keep America Beautiful, Inc., has announced that April <br />9 - 21 will be Keep America Beautiful Weeks; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Keep America Beautiful, Inc., has announced that Keep <br />America Beautiful Day will be observed on Saturday, April 28, 1979; <br />and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Martinsville-Henry County Clean Community Commission <br />is working with the Clean Community System as developed by Keep <br />America Beautiful, Inc., to change people's waste-handling habits; <br />and <br />
