The charge by the grantee to a residential or business <br />subscriber for installing its service connection to a single television <br />receiver within 150 feet of the grantee's trunk line shall not exceed twenty <br />dollars ($20.00). For installing its service connection to a single <br />television receiver beyond 150 feet to grantee's trunk line~ the charge by <br />the grantee shall be for the actual cost thereof. The monthly service and <br />maintenance charge to each subscriber~ for a single receiver~ shall not <br />exceed seven dollars and fifty cents ($7.50), and the monthly charge for <br />each additional receiver shall not exceed one dollar and twenty-five cents <br />($1.25). In the event grantee, during the course of performance under this <br />franchise~ wishes to establish a charge or charges higher than those above <br />prescribed~ the grantee shall first make application to the City Council. <br />The Council, after public hearing~ duly advertised twice a week for two <br />consecutive weeks prior to the hearing~ shall make determination to revise <br />the above prescribed charges or such charges as are then in effect." <br /> <br />",...-... <br /> <br />"Section 24. Effective Date. This ordinance shall be in force and effect <br />on and after November 1~ 1978." <br /> <br />BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that an emergency exists and that this amendment shall <br />take effect on and after November 1, 1978. <br /> <br />Council continued~ for further consideration~ the recent suggestion offered by Mr. <br /> <br />Imam Qiblah Khan~ local Muslin minister, that City Park be renamed the "J. Frank Wilson <br /> <br />Memorial Park" in honor of the late Mr. Wilson, pending research of the "City Park" <br /> <br />deed by City Attorney Worthy as to any restrictive wording in said deed and~ also, <br /> <br />pending other related matters Council desires to study. <br /> <br />Council was apprised of the October 17th letter from Hr. John P. Fishvlick~ President <br /> <br />,- <br /> <br />of the Norfolk & Western Railway Company~ in which (letter) Mr. Fishwick informed the <br /> <br />Council that the railway company~ although its current requirements preclude the <br /> <br />reconstruction of N&W's Martinsville Station (recently destroyed by fire, of unknown <br /> <br />origin), the proximity of the property to the company's main line tracks would make <br /> <br />the rebuilding or reconstructing of the station impractical and dangerous for public <br /> <br />use. In addition~ Mr. Fishwick indicated a pressing need for the railway company to <br /> <br />use the property for employee parking. <br />
