<br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Martinsville, in regular
<br />session held on July 25, 1978, that the ordinance heretofore enacted
<br />by said Council adopting the BOCA Basic Fire Prevention Code, 1975, as
<br />the Fire Prevention Code of the City of Martinsville, Virginia, be, and
<br />the same hereby is, rescinded in its entirety; and,
<br />
<br />BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED by said Council that the BOCA Basic Fire
<br />Prevention Code, 1978, and all appendices thereto, be, and the same
<br />hereby are, adopted as the Fire Prevention Code of the City of
<br />Martinsville, Virginia, a copy of which Code and all appendices
<br />thereto is attached hereto and incorporated into this ordinance by
<br />reference as if it were set forth herein verbatim; and,

<br />BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED by said Council that an emergency exists, and
<br />that this ordinance shall become effective on and after August 1, 1978.

<br />WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Martinsville, Virginia, heretofore
<br />enacted an ordinance to amend the Electrical Code of the City of
<br />Martinsville, Virginia, by adding thereto the National Electrical Code,
<br />1975; and
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, since that time the National Electrical Code, 1975, has been
<br />superseded by the National Electrical Code, 1978. as a result of which
<br />it has become necessary to rescind the ordinance adding the National
<br />Electrical Code, 1975, to the Electrical Code of the City of
<br />Martinsville. Virginia, and to enact an ordinance adding the National
<br />Electrical Code, 1978, to the said City Electrical Code; now, therefore
<br />
<br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Martinsville, in regular
<br />session held on July 25. 1978, that the ordinance heretofore enacted
<br />adding the National Electrical Code. 1975, to the Electrical Code of the
<br />City of Martinsville, Virginia, be, and the same hereby is, rescinded in
<br />its entirety; and,
<br />
<br />BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED by said Council that the Electrical Code of the
<br />City of Martinsville, Virginia, be, and the same hereby is, amended, by
<br />adding thereto the National Electrical Code, 1978, and all appendices
<br />thereto. a copy of which Code and all appendices thereto is attached
<br />hereto and incorporated into this ordinance by reference as if it were
<br />set forth herein verbatim; and.

<br />BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED by said Council that an emergency exists and
<br />that this ordinance shall become effective on and after August 1, 1978.

<br />Council unanimously approved a schedule of projects, presented by the Public Works Department,
<br />
<br />involving some 13,298 linear feet of shared-cost curb-and-gutter construction along various
<br />
<br />City residential streets, for which requests have been received, and some 6,960 linear feet of
<br />
<br />curb-and-gutter-and/or-sidewalk construction along other streets. for fiscal 1978-79.
