<br />Also upon motion, duly seconded and unanimously carried, Council adopted the following
<br />
<br />ordinances updating the City's codes cited therein, administered by the City's Inspection
<br />
<br />Division:
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Martinsvil1e, Virginia, heretofore
<br />adopted the BOCA Basic Building Code, 1975, as the Building Code of
<br />the City of Martinsville, Virginia; and,
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, since that time the BOCA Basic Building Code, 1975, has been
<br />superseded by the BOCA Basic Building Code, 1978, as a result of which
<br />it has become necessary to rescind the ordinance adopting the BOCA
<br />Basic Building Code, 1975, and to enact an ordinance adopting the BOCA
<br />Basic Building Code, 1978, as the Building Code of the City of
<br />Martinsvil1e, Virginia; now, therefore
<br />
<br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Martinsvi11e, in regular
<br />session held on July 25, 1978, that the ordinance heretofore enacted
<br />by said Council adopting the BOCA Basic Building Code, 1975, as the
<br />Building Code of the City of Martinsville, Virginia, be, and the same
<br />hereby is, rescinded in its entirety; and,
<br />
<br />BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED by said Council that the BOCA Basic Building
<br />Code, 1978, and all appendices thereto, be, and the same hereby are,
<br />adopted as the Building Code of the City of Martinsvi1le, Virginia,
<br />a copy of which Code and all appendices thereto is attached hereto
<br />and incorporated into this ordinance by reference as if it were set
<br />forth herein verbatim; and,
<br />
<br />BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED by said Council that an emergency exists, and
<br />that this ordinance shall become effective on and after August 1, 1978.
