<br />/.... 8 <br />,J( <br /> <br />TUESDAY <br /> <br />APRIL 25, 1978 <br /> <br />In tentative acceptance of the Planning Commission's recommendation submitted under <br /> <br />date of April 21, 1978, Council called for a duly-advertised public hearing to be <br /> <br />conducted by Council at its forthcoming May 23rd meeting on Mr. W. Lowell Thomas' <br /> <br />request (filed February 28, 1978) that the "old Douglas Street" right-of-way between <br /> <br />Memorial Boulevard and petitioner's property fronting partially on said Memorial <br /> <br />Boulevard, at its intersection with Summit Street, be vacated and abandoned. <br /> <br />Also, in tentative acceptance of the Planning Commission's recommendation filed under <br /> <br />date of April 21, 1978, Council called for a duly-advertised public hearing to be <br /> <br />conducted by Council at its forthcoming May 9th meeting on a petition from Fifteen <br /> <br />Cleveland, Inc., seeking the rezoning (from "R-6 Residential" to "p-2 Professional") of <br /> <br />the rear portions of the "DeShazo" and "Spencer" properties fronting the north side <br /> <br />of Brown Street. <br /> <br />Additionally, in tentative acceptance of the Planning Commission's recommendation, <br /> <br />Council called for a duly-advertised public hearing to be conducted by Council at its <br /> <br />forthcoming May 23rd meeting on a petition seeking the rezoning (from "R-6 Residential" <br /> <br />to "p-2 Professional") of the Ethel L. Overton property at 204 Starling Avenue. <br /> <br />Under date of April 21, 1978, the Planning Commission recommended that Council reject <br /> <br />the application for a Special-Use Permit filed by Mr. Donald C. Custer, under which <br /> <br />Mr. Custer proposes to construct fifteen apartment units on Lot No. 27, with which lot <br /> <br />applicant seeks to combine Lots Nos. 25 and 26, at the corner of Spruce Street and <br /> <br />Berkshire Place, the Commission pointing out that the proposed project constitutes poor <br /> <br />planning because of the topography of the site and the proposed location and parking <br /> <br />design and, therefore, would have a detrimental effect on the health and welfare of the <br /> <br />neighborhood.
