<br />{ /" ,1 <br />(:;: ~::; 4 <br /> <br />SEPTEMBER 28, 1982 <br /> <br />TUESDAY <br /> <br />of the City Code: <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Section 11-4 of the City Code, entitled "Annoying or <br />molesting females", has been held to be vague, unenforceable and <br />unconstitutional; now, therefore, <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Martinsville, Virginia, <br />in regular session held on September 28, 1982, that Section 11-4 <br />shall be wholly amended and is hereby revised to read as follows: <br /> <br />Sec. 11-4 Sexual solicitation or harrassment <br /> <br />It shall be a Class 1 misdemeanor for any person <br />to make any solicitation, offer, suggestion, or <br />request, or express or suggest the desire to en- <br />gage in, any act of sexual intercourse, sodomy, <br />inanimate object sexual penetration, indecent <br />exposure, buggery, cuninlingus, fellatio, anal- <br />lingus, oral intercourse, or fondling of intimate <br />parts to any individual to whom such person is <br />unacquainted, or any indivIdual to whom such <br />person is acquainted if such acquaintance has in- <br />formed such person, orally or in writing, that <br />such acquaintance does not wish to receive any <br />such attention or communication from such person. <br /> <br />By report to Council dated September 22, 1982, City Manager Edmonds proposed the <br /> <br />adoption by Council, with appropriate ordinance to be introduced at Council's forth- <br /> <br />coming October 12th meeting.of the BOCA Basic Fire Prevention Code/1981, Fifth Edition, <br /> <br />to supersede the current fire prevention code (1978 version of the BOCA Basic Fire <br /> <br />Prevention Code), plus ordinances to implement administratively the 1981 edition by <br /> <br />establishing (or re-establishing) and empowering the position of Fire Marshal, the <br /> <br />establishing of a fee-permit system, and regulations governing conditions which could <br /> <br />impede or interfere with fire suppression measures. <br /> <br />Dr. Elizabeth W.
