<br />(~ t) <br />\. ,) f-"j <br /> <br />TUESDAY <br /> <br />SEPTEMBER 28, 1982 <br /> <br />In tentative acceptance of the Planning Commission's recommendation that Section IX-B-8 <br /> <br />of the City's Zoning Ordinance be amended to lessen present requirements for off-street <br /> <br />parking and loading spaces for private clubs, lodges, and swimming pools; as requested by <br /> <br />the Martinsville Athletic Club, Council called for a duly-advertised public hearing to be <br /> <br />conducted on this proposal at Council's forthcoming October 12th meeting. <br /> <br />Council unanimously adopted the following resolution which, in accordance with the <br /> <br />requirements of Senate Bill No. 219 enacted by the 1982 Session of the Virginia General <br /> <br />Assembly and in conjunction with like action by the Henry County Board of Supervisors, <br /> <br />establishes a six-person coordinating committee, composed of officials named therein, for <br /> <br />the purpose of developing, establishing, and administering a plan (by July 1, 1983, and <br /> <br />thereafter) to assure the cost-effective utilization of all funds available within the <br /> <br />locality for long-term care services to the elderly: <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Senate Bill No. 219 was passed by the 1982 Session of the <br />General Assembly, requiring each locality in the State to establish a <br />plan by July 1, 1982, to assure the cost-effective utilization of all <br />funds available within the locality for long-term care services to the <br />elderly; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, such a plan is to be developed and administered by a coordi- <br />nating committee, consisting of persons already involved in the planning <br />and/or provision of long-term care services; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, it is deemed appropriate and productive for the City of <br />Martinsville and Henry County to join in the creation of a single coor- <br />dinating committee to accomplish for both localities the prescribed <br />ends of Senate Bill No. 219; now, therefore, <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Martinsville on this 28th <br />day of September, 1982, that: <br /> <br />1. A six-person coordinating committee shall be established, <br />to be composed of: <br /> <br />a. Director of Henry County Social Services <br />Department, or his/her designee. <br /> <br />b. Director of the City of Martinville Social <br />Services Department, or his/her designee. <br />
