<br />t. , <br /> <br />TUESDAY <br /> <br />AUGUST 24, 1982 <br /> <br />Council also unanimously adopted an ordinance, as introduced at Council's August 10th <br /> <br />meeting, which adopts by reference the 1981 Edition of the Virginia Uniform Statewide <br /> <br />Building Code and adopts various local administrative provisions, including the <br /> <br />establishment of examination and certification procedures, and including requirements <br /> <br />covering local licensure, bonding and insurance and permit fee schedules. (Note: <br /> <br />This ordinance is not herein copied into the minutes but is on file with the Clerk of <br /> <br />Council and with the City's Building Official.) <br /> <br />Council unanimously approved for execution (by Mayor Cole) an agreement or contract <br /> <br />with the Henry County Public Service Authority whereby, for a period of two years <br /> <br />from August 24, 1982, and thereafter renewable on a year-to-year basis unless termi- <br /> <br />nated by either party by giving sixty (60) days advance notice, the parties thereto <br /> <br />will exchange up to 50,000 gallons of treated water per day in event of emergencies <br /> <br />through service by the PSA to the City's Industrial Park and/or service by the City <br /> <br />for the PSA's Collinsville-Villa Heights area. This agreement or contract coincides <br /> <br />with, and supplements, the long-term water agreement with the Henry County PSA, as <br /> <br />conditionally approved by Council on June 1, 1982. <br /> <br />Council unanimously approved (for execution on the part of the City) an agreement <br /> <br />with the Virginia Department of Highways & Transportation, setting forth details <br /> <br />of understanding for the proposed construction by the Highway Department of a new <br /> <br />box culvert on Spruce Street at Mulberry Creek (State Project No. 0650-120-101, <br /> <br />PE-101, RW-202, C-502, D-601). <br /> <br />A motion, duly seconded, to adopt an updated Housing Assistance Plan for the City <br /> <br />of Martinsville, as recommended by Wiley & Wilson's February-1982 housing study- <br />
