<br />.".: S <br /> <br />TUESDAY <br /> <br />AUGUST 24, 1982 <br /> <br />Sec. 8-14 <br /> <br />Disturbing or damaging refuse containers or receptacles. <br /> <br />It shall be a Class 3 misdemeanor for any person to disturb, <br />damage, or deface any refuse container placed at the curb line <br />for collection or any public refuse receptacle. <br /> <br />Sec. 8-15 <br /> <br />Litter receptacles in public places. <br /> <br />The Litter Receptacle Regulations adopted by the Department <br />of Conservation and Economic Development of the Commonwealth <br />of Virginia, November 22, 1978, pursuant to Chapter 19, Title 10, <br />Section 10-200, Code of Virginia, are hereby adopted and incor- <br />porated into this section of the City Code by reference as if set <br />forth herein verbatim. <br /> <br />Sec. 8-16 <br /> <br />Public works director authorized to <br />promulgate regulations; suspension of service. <br /> <br />a. The Director of Public Works is hereby authorized to <br />promulgate any rules or regulations concerning the <br />collection or handling of refuse as he may deem <br />necessary, not in conflict with this Code or State <br />law. <br /> <br />b. The Director of Public Works may, in his discretion, <br />suspend refuse collection service to any person who <br />fails or refuses to comply with this chapter or any <br />rules or regulations lawfully promulgated thereunder. <br /> <br />Sec. 8-17 <br /> <br />Violations of this article. <br /> <br />Excpet as otherwise specifically provided, any violation of any <br />provision of this article shall constitute a Class 1 misdemeanor. <br /> <br />Council unanimously adopted the following ordinance, aj introduced at Council's August 10th <br /> <br />meeting, amending the City's business-professional License Tax Ordinance: <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Martinsville, Virginia, <br />that the 1970 License Tax Ordinance of the City of Martinsville, <br />Virginia, be--and is hereby--amended to provide that Section 11 of <br />Chapter II thereof is hereby deleted and that Section 7 of Chapter <br />III shall include, between the line "A physiotherapist" and the <br />line "A public relations counsellor" the following: <br /> <br />A private investigator or private detective <br />or private security services business. <br />
