Qualifying facilities <br />include facilities which generate electricity from solar, wind, <br />geothermal, biomass, or waste, or from the sequential use of <br />thermal energy by a cogenerator. <br /> <br />Monthly Rates <br /> <br />A qualifying facility taking auxi1ary service under this schedule <br />shall pay for power and energy purchased under the otherwise <br />applicable rate schedule. <br /> <br />A qualifying facility may elect to sell electrical energy to the <br />Electric Department at the same rate which the Electric Depart- <br />ment pays for energy purchased from its wholesale supplier, <br />Appalachian Power Company. The rate per KWH shall be the sum of <br />the base energy charge in effect and the wholesale fuel adjust- <br />ment charge in effect during the month of the sale. The base <br />rate for energy as of June 30, 1982 is $0.018833 per KWH. <br /> <br />Special Terms and Conditions <br /> <br />A qualifying facility taking or selling power under this schedule <br />shall be subject to the Cogeneration and Small Power Production <br />Rules of the City of Martinsvil1e, Virginia, and the Conditions of <br />Service provided for in section 3 therein, in particular sections <br />3.4, 3.5, 3.6, and 3.8, 3.10, which assure the proper and safe <br />operation of the generating equipment in parallel with the <br />Electric Department's system, and the allocation of intercon- <br />nection and associated costs between the qualifying facility and <br />the Electric Department. <br /> <br />In taking up for discussion proposed code revisions for control of litter and over- <br /> <br />growth of vegetation and for removal of dilapidated structures, as presented by <br /> <br />City Manager Edmonds at Council's June 22nd meeting, Council received comments, in- <br /> <br />quiries and suggestions from Mrs. William F. Stone, Sr., Chairman of the Martins- <br /> <br />vi11e-Henry County Clean Community Commission, and from Mrs. H. Marvin Midkiff, <br /> <br />former Chairman of the Commission, who expressed general agreement with the <br /> <br />thrust of the proposed revisions and (who) suggested that, insofar as litter con- <br /> <br />trol is involved, the proposed revisions include pertinent Virginia State <br /> <br />regulations. Members of Council also expressed concurrence with the thrust and <br /> <br />intent of said revisions, meanwhile insisting that such revisions, when adopted, <br />
