<br />TUESDAY <br /> <br />JULY 13, 1982 <br /> <br />on--and continued to its forthcoming July 27th meeting--a petition filed by the City <br /> <br />and supported by the Planning Commission to amend the City's Comprehensive Plan and <br /> <br />Land Use Map to reflect a "Medium Density Residential" designation for Whittle Park, <br /> <br />located off Oak Street, this property having recently been sold by the City to <br /> <br />Mr. L. L. Lester, Jr., and the petition being the subject of a duly-advertised public <br /> <br />hearing which, because of prior commitments, Mr. Katz could not attend. <br /> <br />~ <br /> <br />Pursuant to duly-advertised public notice, Council conducted a public hearing on <br /> <br />Pannil1 Knitting Company's petition (previously approved by the Planning Commission) <br /> <br />seeking the closing of that section of Water Street situated between its intersection <br /> <br />with Cleveland Avenue and the properties at 205-and-207 Water Street owned by Joseph E. <br /> <br />Lovell, et ai, of which section Panni11 Knitting Company is the abutting property <br /> <br />owner on both sides. There being no objections registered by anyone to this petition <br /> <br />and in acceptance of the Planning Commission's recommendations thereon, Council <br /> <br />unanimously directed the closing and vacating of said Water Street section, to be <br /> <br />achieved through a quit-claim deed (execution of which was authorized), subject to <br /> <br />retention by the City of easements for all utilities located within this street's <br /> <br />right-of-way. <br /> <br />Also, pursuant to duly-advertised public notice, Council conducted a public hearing on <br /> <br />the City's petition (previously approved by the Planning Commission) seeking the <br /> <br />abandonment of an unused 30-foot-wide road space or right-of-way extending from Rives Rd. along <br /> <br />the north side of Forest Lake Drive for a distance of approximately 205 feet and being <br /> <br />adjacent to Lot No. 5 (on said Forest Lake Drive) recently sold to James E. and Erma W. <br /> <br />Lawson, fifteen feet of said unused road space to remain in the City's possession. <br /> <br />There being no objections registered by anyone to this petition, Council unanimously <br /> <br />approved same and authorized the execution of a quit-claim deed for that half of the <br />
