<br />TUESDAY <br /> <br />MAY 25, 1982 <br /> <br />,.-. <br /> <br />Further accepts responsibility jointly with the Martinsville-Henry <br />County Clean Community Commission and with the County of Henry for <br />all phases of the Program; <br /> <br />Further accepts liability for its pro-rata share of any funds not <br />properly used or accounted for, pursuant to the Regulations and <br />the Application; <br /> <br />Assures that said funds, when received, will be transferred <br />immediately to the Martinsville-Henry County Clean Community <br />Commission and that all funds will be used in the Cooperative <br />Program, hereby endorsed and supported; and <br /> <br />.-. <br /> <br />Hereby requests the Virginia Department of Conservation and <br />Economic Development, Division of Litter Control, to consider and <br />approve the hereby-authorized Application and Program, said <br />Program being in accord with regulations governing use and <br />expenditure of said funds. <br /> <br />Upon motion, duly seconded and unanimously carried, Council scheduled for adoption at <br /> <br />its forthcoming June 8th meeting an ordinance, as introduced, which would amend <br /> <br />Section 2-6 of the City Code and, thereby, provide for the staggering of terms of <br /> <br />Planning Commission members, effective July 1, 1982. <br /> <br />Council also unanimously approved a revised Personnel Manual for City employees, as <br /> <br />introduced April 27th and subsequently revised, effective July 1, 1982. <br /> <br />With reference to recently-adopted amendments to the City's Zoning Ordinance requiring <br /> <br />visual screening of outside storage in certain commercial zones, City Manager Edmonds <br /> <br />reported that, of the thirty local business firms in non-compliance on the effective <br /> <br />date of these amendments, twenty-nine of such firms have since voluntarily complied <br /> <br />and the thirtieth such firm, now under review for compliance, will probably soon meet <br /> <br />these requirements. <br />
