'J

TUESDAY

MAY 25, 1982

enthusiastically supported by local law enforcement agencies as a potential

supplemental aid, by eliciting the cooperation of citizens (and providing a more

ready means therefor) toward assisting local law enforcement personnel in the solving

of crimes which might, otherwise, go unsolved. Council commended Mr. Frith for his

interest and efforts in this cause.

Upon motion, duly seconded and unanimously carried, Council accepted the following

high bids submitted for the purchase from the City of the following tracts or

properties, as presented to Council at its May 11th meeting:

l. Meanwhile, Mr. Benjamin R. Gardner, Attorney

at Law and Counsel for Mr. Wilson, urged Council to accept Mr. Wilson's high bid for

the Smith Lake tract, indicating that Mr. Wilson has plans for its industrial

development, part of which tract has no usage potential because of terrain and location,

noting that the City has declared it as being surplus after having owned it for some

thirty-five years, during which time it has serve no purpose but to be a hazard and

an eyesore, and that--by accepting Mr. Wilson's bid--jobs would be created through
