<br />TUESDAY <br /> <br />FEBRUARY 9, 1982 <br /> <br />- <br /> <br />Pursuant to Section 2.1-344 of the CODE OF VIRGINIA (1950, and as amended), and upon <br />motion, duly seconded and unanimously carried by a recorded vote, Council convened <br />into an Executive Session for the purposes of considering the following matters: <br />A. The need to appoint and/o reappoint citizens to membership on the <br />Martinsville-Henry County Clean Community Commission; <br /> <br />B. The need to appoint or reappoint a citizen to the Board of Commissioners <br />of the West Piedmont Planning District Commission; and <br /> <br />C. The proposed water agreement with Henry County and the Henry County <br />Board of Supervisors' February 8th response thereto. <br /> <br />Upon reconvening into regular session, Council took the following actions on the <br />aforesaid matters considered in Executive Session: <br /> <br />A. Unanimously appointed and/or reappointed the following nominees to <br />membership on the Martinsville-Henry County Clean Community Commission <br />for two-year terms beginning April 1, 1982: <br /> <br />Reappointees <br />Mr. James B. Jones, Jr., City Building Official <br />Mrs. Sue W. Richmond, 408 Thomas Heights <br />Mrs. Ivey C. Stone, 1229 Sam Lion Trail <br />Mr. Clyde L. Williams, 607 First Street <br /> <br />Appointees <br />Mr. W. Clarke Brown, 225 Park Street <br />Mrs. Nancy N. Henderson, 717 Clarke Road <br />Mr. Daniel L. Manson, 103 Farmington Court <br /> <br />B. Unanimously reappointed Mrs. Eliza H. Severt to the Board of Commissioners <br />of the West Piedmont Planning District Commission for a three-year term <br />beginning April 1, 1982. <br /> <br />C. Upon motion, duly seconded and unanimously carried, directed the re-opening <br />of negotiations with Henry County on the proposed water agreement, through <br />City Manager Edmonds with Henry County Administrator Lee Lintecum, including <br />the resolving of questions thereon recently posed by Council and the con- <br />tinuing joint study of all sources of raw water. <br /> <br />In connection with the proposed water agreement, Council acknowledged receipt of the <br /> <br />following response thereto from the Henry County Board of Supervisors, entitled, <br />"WATER SERVICE PLANS FOR HENRY COUNTY": <br />
