Implement the development of a water supply for the areas of the <br />Upper Reaches of the Smith River compatible with the adopted M/R <br />Plan and in keeping with the Comprehensive Water and Sewer Plan <br />for Henry County. <br /> <br />2. Authorize William C. Overman and Associates to complete plans <br />and specifications for the initial construction of a 2 mgd water <br />filtration plant at Philpott and associated transmission main to <br />serve the Collinsville/Villa Heights and other Service Areas of <br />the Upper Reaches of the Smith River. <br /> <br />3. Request the Henry County Public Service Authority on behalf of <br />the Board of Supervisors to proceed with the acquisition of the <br />lands (upper site) and rights-of-way required for construction <br />of such improvements. <br /> <br />4. Accept the Water Service Agreement as negotiated by the City and <br />the County, subject to further joint study of other sources of <br />raw water for the City and approval of the Board. Specifically, <br />the County suggests that a raw water intake in the vicinity of <br />Philpott be studied. <br /> <br />5. Request the City Council to continue to negotiate on the sites <br />and sources to obtain a source of raw water that would be <br />compatible with the needs of the area as a whole and would not <br />adversely affect either jurisdiction in the years to corne. <br /> <br />Council was adjourned. <br /> <br />--... <br />h~,...~~ <br />W.
