<br />f. <br />h!1. <br /> <br />TUESDAY <br /> <br />JULY 28, 1981 <br /> <br />- <br /> <br />contract would become in default if sufficient water is not <br />made available; and <br />(5) Mrs. Dori Blitz, a citizen residing at 114 Emmett Street and <br />representing herself as speaking from a small consumer usage <br />viewpoint, alleged that the City Manager's water conservation <br />plan and the City's water rate schedule are regressive, that <br />the small water users should be rewarded for conservation <br />practices, that the large water users are being subsidized, <br />that the large water users should bear the burden of <br />conservation, and (that) an exception should be made for <br />Memorial Hospital from the plan. <br /> <br />the immediate availability of all water sources; to seek the assistance of the <br /> <br />Comments offered by various members of Council emphasized the need to explore <br /> <br />Henry County Board of Supervisors toward making available any and all feasibile <br /> <br />be adversely affected if sufficient water quantities can not be supplied local <br /> <br />out that the economy of both jurisdictions is closely inter-related and could <br /> <br />water sources within the county during the City's current emergency, pointing <br /> <br />businesses and industries, particularly the textile industry and a local mirror <br /> <br />After further discussion, Council asked that City Manager Edmonds keep Council <br /> <br />manufacturing plant; and, to encourage water conservation in every possible way. <br /> <br />apprised of progress being made toward obtaining additional water suPplies from <br /> <br />the sources discussed as well as presenting to Council, perhaps within a week, <br /> <br />Meanwhile, Council unanimously accepted the City Manager's recommendations that <br /> <br />a report thereon and estimates of costs involved to obtain additional water. <br /> <br />(1) Condition 1 of his proposed Water Resources Conservation Plan, hereinafter <br /> <br />made a part of these minutes, be declared in effect; (2) an exploration of the <br /> <br />suggested alternative water sources, except the PSA's Marrowbone Plant, be con- <br /> <br />be further considered at Council's next meeting. <br /> <br />ducted posthaste; and (3) the remainder of the Water Resources Conservation Plan <br />
