Muse, of the West Martinsville Jaycees, which agency is the <br /> <br />Mr. David Draper, Director of the Neighborhood Youth Resources Center, and <br /> <br />serve as cash-flow agent for two-year funding (by the DJCP/LEAA), for which <br /> <br />sponsor of the NYRC project, appeared before Council and requested that Council <br /> <br />application is being made, under the same conditions as attached to the arrange- <br /> <br />the Center and its value to the community. <br /> <br />continued. Meanwhile, Messrs. Draper and Muse presented an activity report on <br /> <br />ment approved by Council on March 14, 1978. Consideration of this request was <br /> <br />advertised public hearing to be conducted at Council's forthcoming June 9th <br /> <br />On motion, duly seconded and unanimously carried, Council called for a duly- <br /> <br />meeting on Graves Supply Company's petition requesting the rezoning of its <br /> <br />property at 927 North Memorial Boulevard, adjacent to petitioner's present <br /> <br />business site, from "C-3 Commercial" and "R-6 Residential" to "M-1 Industrial", <br /> <br />said property more specifically described as Parcels Nos. 6 and 7, as shown on <br /> <br />Section 29 of the City's tax maps. The record notes that the Planning Commission <br /> <br />has approved the petition, except for that property presently zoned "R-6 Residential", <br /> <br />and that petitioner is in accord with the Planning Commission's approval and <br /> <br />recommendation. <br /> <br />Upon motion, duly seconded and un animously carried, Council adopted (on second <br /> <br />business taxes: <br /> <br />reading) the following ordinance imposing 10% interest charges on delinquent (City) <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Section 58-847 of the CODE OF VIRGINIA (1950, and as amended) provides <br />that the governing body of any city within the Commonwealth of Virginia may <br />provide by ordinance for the payment of interest on delinquent business license <br />taxes at a rate not greater than ten per centum (10%) per annum; now, therefore, <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Martinsville, Virginia, in regular <br />meeting assembled, that interest shall be paid on delinquent business license <br />taxes at the rate of ten per centum (10%) per annum, said interest to commence <br />on the first day of the month following the month in which any such license tax, <br />or installment thereof, was due and payable. <br /> <br />BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED by said Council that any prior ordinance of the Council of <br />the City of Martinsville, Virginia, to the extent that it conflicts with the <br />foregoing provisions, be--and the same hereby is~-recinded and revoked. <br />
