<br />1 ~}8 <br /> <br />TUESDAY <br /> <br />OCTOBER 25, 1983 <br /> <br />with that she considers as inconsistencies by Council in acting upon recent tax-penalty <br /> <br />waiver requests, a motion (duly seconded) to grant Mr. Williams' request carried by a <br /> <br />vote of three-to-two (Mrs. Severt and Mr. Reed voting against the motion). Accordingly, <br /> <br />said penalties-interest were directed waived upon the condition that the delinquent real <br /> <br />estate taxes, in the amount of $93.58, be paid within thirty days. <br /> <br />Upon motion, duly seconded and unanimously carried, Council adopted an ordinance (as <br /> <br />introduced at Council's October 11th meeting) which adds the following conditions to <br /> <br />Sections 4.1 and 8.1 of the City's Terms and Conditions of Electric Service and (to) <br /> <br />Sections 4.1 and 9.1 of the City's Terms and Conditions of Water and Sewer Service(s): <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Martinsville, Virginia, <br />in regular session held on October 25, 1983,thatSections4.1 and8.1 <br />of the Terms and Conditions of Electric Service and Sections 4.1 and <br />9.1 of the Terms and Conditions of Water and Sewer Services be <br />amended as follows: <br /> <br />Deposits <br /> <br />In lieu of a deposit, the customer may present a Letter of Credit <br />from his previous utility services provider stating that he has had <br />an acceptable record of payment for the previous twelve months. <br /> <br />In lieu of a deposit, the customer may obtain a guarantor. To <br />qualify as a guarantor, an individual must be a bonafide customer of <br />the City, in good standing, reside in the City and appear in person <br />to execute a "Guarantor of Payment Agreement". The guarantor must <br />understand that failure to pay any charges unrecovered from the cus- <br />tomer will result in the termination of services to the guarantor. <br /> <br />Disconnection and Reconnection <br /> <br />Accounts that have had service terminated and that are over ninety <br />(90) days past due will be referred to a private agency for <br />collection. <br /> <br />Upon motion, duly seconded and unanimously carried, Council approved a contract to be <br /> <br />executed by the Henry County Public Service Authority with Bryant's Plumbing & Heating <br /> <br />Corporation for the construction of the Leatherwood Creek Raw Water Transmission line <br />
