<br />3 <br /> <br />TUESDAY <br /> <br />FEBRUARY 22, 1983 <br /> <br />Council of the status of a draft plan of the Martinsville-Henry County Long-Term Care <br /> <br />Coordinating Committee and, also, indicated that follow-up reports from this agency will <br /> <br />be presented from time to time. <br /> <br />Upon motions, duly seconded and unanimously carried (with the exception in the case of <br /> <br />the first item hereinafter described, wherein Councilman Eliza H. Severt abstained), and <br /> <br />having determined that fault did not or does not lie with the property owners involved, <br /> <br />Council authorized and directed the waiving of penalties and interest assessed against <br /> <br />delinquent property taxes in the following cases and for the following years, upon the <br /> <br />condition that the delinquent taxes due in these cases be paid within thirty days: <br /> <br />A. Properties on or adjacent to Harris Court, which properties are now owned <br />by Graves Supply, Inc. and consisting of Lots Nos. 22 and 23 (and un-numbered <br />lots now incorporated into said Lots Nos. 22 and 23), on which total taxes <br />of $5.70 are due for the years 1963, 1964, and 1966; and Lots Nos. 17, 18, <br />19, 25, and Well Lot for the year 1972 and Lot No. 17X for the years 1963, <br />1968, 1969, 1971, and 1972, also now owned by Graves Supply, Inc., on which <br />total taxes of $143.58 are due. <br /> <br />B. Lot No. lOA at 1663 Roundabout Road (formerly 1222 Roundabout Road), now <br />owned by Mr. Jack R. Lewis, on which total taxes of $49.96 are due for the <br />years 1963 and 1964. <br /> <br />C. Lot No. 10 at 910 Glade Street, now owned by Robey L. and Nancy Hollandsworth <br />Spraker, on which taxes of $127.00 are due for the year 1966. <br /> <br />D. Lot No.2 at 119 Roselawn Heights, now owned by Mr. & Mrs. Donald R. Chappell, <br />on which taxes in the amount of $23.28 are due for a portion of year 1973. <br /> <br />E. A portion of Lot No.3 at Clearview Drive and Mica Street, now owned by Mrs. <br />Clydie W. Griffin, on which a tax of $1.86 is due (in total) for the years <br />1963 and 1964. <br /> <br />Council denied the request of Mr. Jack R. Lewis for waiver of penalties and interest <br /> <br />assessed against delinquent property taxes on Mr. Lewis' Lots Nos. 2 and 3 on the east side <br /> <br />of Roundabout Road for the years 1959 through 1970 because Mr. Lewis, having acquired this <br /> <br />property in 1959, failed to have the deed therefor recorded until 1974. The record notes <br /> <br />that Mr. Lewis paid the taxes due for the years 1971 through 1973. <br />
