Noting that com- <br /> <br />pliance with this (amended) request would constitute a policy change and/or require a <br /> <br />policy decision on the part of Council, Council unanimously referred this matter to the <br /> <br />Planning Commission for its consideration and advice. <br /> <br />In response to a request from the Virginia Municipal League, Council unanimously sub- <br /> <br />mitted the names of the following nominees from the City for membership on the following <br /> <br />VML policy committees for consideration by VML President Francis T. Dev. <br /> <br />At the request of Mr. Mark R. Henne, Executive Director of the West Piedmont Planning <br /> <br />District Commission, Council unanimously authorized City Manager Edmonds to execute a <br /> <br />Letter of Agreement (on behalf of the City) by which the City of Martinsville will join <br /> <br />with other eligible jurisdictions of the West Piedmont Planning District in the filing <br /> <br />of an application for a Community Development Assistance Grant and, too, will act as the <br /> <br />principal applicant therefor, with the West Piedmont Planning District Commission being <br /> <br />designated to undertake the application's project activities. <br /> <br />Upon motion, duly seconded and unanimously carried, Council authorized and directed the <br />
