City Manager Edmonds informed Council that the ordinance, with the

exception of Attorney Gregory's proposal, now reflects all changes and revisions heretofore

authorized by Council. Upon motion by Councilman West, seconded by Vice-Mayor Oakes, and

with Councilwoman Severt voting against the motion and all other members of Council voting

for the motion, Council adopted the proposed license tax ordinance, with revisions thereto

as authorized. (NOTE: This ordinance is not herein made a part of these minutes but is on

file with the Clerk of Council and will appear as a supplement to the new City Code, now in

the process of being codified and published.) Higgins, Manager of APCo's Fieldale

District. In so doing, Council expressed its appreciation to Appalachian Power Company and

its officials for their cooperation and assistance toward making possible the transfer of

these customers who reside in the area annexed by the City from Henry County as of January 1,

1965.
