<br />46 <br /> <br />TUESDAY, AUGUST 27, 1985 <br /> <br />Upon motion by Councilman Groden, seconded by Councilman Oakes and <br /> <br />unanimously carried, Council set a public hearing for September 10, 1985, <br /> <br />on a request by Ms. Pauline Lawson to rezone Lot #10 (311 Brown Street) <br /> <br />from R-6 Residential to P-2 Professional. <br /> <br />Upon motion by Councilman Oakes, seconded by Vice-Mayor Severt and <br /> <br />unanimously carried, Council approved a request by Mr. Harris Brown, <br /> <br />Property Developer for W. H. Weaver Construction Company, for a 180-day <br /> <br />extension to their Special Use Permit for the construction of Phase II of <br /> <br />the Martins Landing Apartments as recommended by the Planning Commission. <br /> <br />Upon motion by Councilman Groden, seconded by Councilman Williams and <br /> <br />unanimously carried, Council adopted Ordinance No. 85-9 amending Chapter <br /> <br />5, Articles I, II and III of the City Code regarding Animals and Fowls. <br /> <br />It was noted that the amendment would allow six dogs on anyone premises <br /> <br />provided they are kept in an enclosed building at least fifty feet away <br /> <br />from any persons residence. Councilman Oakes asked that a report be on <br /> <br />the agenda one year from now as to how these amendments were working. <br /> <br />Upon motion by Councilman Oakes, seconded by Vice-Mayor Severt and <br /> <br />unanimously carried, Council referred to the Planning Commission for their <br /> <br />study and recommendations a report and proposed amendments to the City's <br /> <br />Zoning Ordinance related to multi-family housing as recommended by the <br /> <br />City Administration. <br /> <br />It was suggested that public hearings be conducted <br /> <br />in various parts of the City to be sure that we get input from the citi- <br /> <br />zens as to designating areas that multi-family housing can be constructed. <br />
