The

motion was unanimously approved.

J. Michael Grubbs, Administrative

Assistant to the City Manager, answered questions from the Council noting

that the total program budget would be $640,949 with the grant application

requesting $214,575. There was some concern expressed about financing the

rehabilitation of some of the rental units from these funds. City Manager

Brown stated that we would corne back to Council before proceeding with

that phase of the project.

RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, at its regular meeting held May 28, 1985, Martinsville
City Council authorized the preparation of an application for
Community Improvement Grant funds under the Virginia Community
Development Block Grant Program, for the purpose of helping
finance Housing Rehabilitation Program loans to upgrade to
current code requirements forty-five low and moderate income
units; now, therefore,

BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Martinsville,
Virginia, in regular meeting assembled this 28th day of May,
1985, that it does hereby

1.
