<br />3~ <br /> <br />TUESDAY <br /> <br />FEBRUARY 12, 1985 <br /> <br />- <br /> <br />conditions and excepting certain motor vehicle parking requirements currently in force-- <br /> <br />present regulations and restrictions applicable to single-family residences in the R-9 and <br /> <br />R-16 Residential Districts will apply to two-unit apartment buildings when constructed. <br /> <br />/~ <br /> <br />Concurring with Councilman Groden's suggestion, Council asked City Manager Brown and City <br /> <br />Treasurer Bouldin to report to Council at Council's forthcoming March 26th meeting on whether <br /> <br />problems involving the Treasurer's office, as cited in the City's recent audit report, yet <br /> <br />exist and/or whether measures have been instituted to correct these problems and/or what <br /> <br />measures they would recommend to resolve the problems (if extant). <br /> <br />By memorandum report, Mr. J. Ronnie Minter, Commissioner of the Revenue, informed Council <br /> <br />that the 1984 general reassessment of real estate in the City has been completed, which <br /> <br />reflects a taxable valuation of $351,140,300 and an increase of 6.3569% (or $20,987,550) over <br /> <br />the 1982 general reassessment (plus supplements). Council was further informed that the <br /> <br />Board of Equalization (to review the new reassessment and to perform such other duties as are <br /> <br />required) has been appointed by the Judge of Martinsville City Circuit Court, has been sworn <br /> <br />in, and is now organized. <br /> <br />At the request of The Honorable Junius P. Warren, Judge of the 21st District Juvenile & <br /> <br />Domestic Relations Court, Council unanimously approved--and authorized for execution on <br /> <br />behalf of the City--an agreement between the City of Martinsville and the counties of Henry <br /> <br />and Patrick by which statutory compliance can be achieved as to the number and terms of <br /> <br />office of member-representatives (from each jurisdiction) of the Anchor House Commission. <br /> <br />As the City's member-representatives on this Commission, Council appointed Dr. James E. <br /> <br />Calkins, Dr. Joseph Leizer, and Mr. William F. Stone, Jr., (who have previously served in <br /> <br />this capacity) for terms beginning January 1, 1985, and ending either two or four years <br /> <br />therefrom initially. <br />
