<br />431 <br /> <br />TU~SDAY, NOVEMBER 25, 1986 <br /> <br />agencies who are selected by the Commission to its monthly Honor Roll. <br /> <br />By letter dated November 6, 1986, Mr. Richard Globman, President of G B G Enter- <br /> <br />prises, Inc., requested that this firm's parking lots in the City's Central Business <br /> <br />District be taken into the City's Parking System under the parking plan developed <br /> <br />March 16, 1976, by which plan the City has undertaken the responsibility of pro- <br /> <br />viding for motor vehicle parking needs in this district. Parking lots heretofore <br /> <br />operated by the petitioner and offered to the City are as follows: <br /> <br />A. Broad Street and East Church Street . <br />B. Between CENTEL and Globmans (Church & Main) <br />C. 29 Broad Street (Williamsburg) . . . . <br /> <br />. 61,640 sq. ft. <br />. . 10,400 sq. ft. <br />. 19,178 sq. ft. <br /> <br />Upon motion, duly seconded and unanimously carried, Council accepted City Manager <br /> <br />Brown's recommendation that he be authorized, in consultation with the CDC Commis- <br /> <br />sion, to study this request further and to continue negotiations already begun with <br /> <br />G B G Enterprises, following which he will bring to Council a report and <br /> <br />recommendation. <br /> <br />Council acknowledged receipt of a final report reflecting the excellent response by <br /> <br />City employees to the 1986 UNITED WAY Campaign. Council also commended Mrs. Barbara <br /> <br />Amos (of the City's Finance Department), 1986 UNITED WAY Coordinator for the City, <br /> <br />for her successful efforts in this worthy cause, as well as participating City <br /> <br />employees upon being given special recognition as winners of a 1986 UNITED WAY <br /> <br />Campaign Award. <br /> <br />Council unanimously accepted City Manager Brown's recommendation, in consultation <br /> <br />with the City's financial advisors, that the proposed refunding of the City's <br /> <br />General Obligation Water Bonds be postponed until some time in January of 1987. <br /> <br />By letter dated November 11, 1986, Mr. Philip G. Gardner, Attorney at Law, informed <br /> <br />Council that the Dorn-Will/Blue Ridge Nursing Home project (for which Mr. Gardner is <br />
