<br />92 <br /> <br />TUESDAY, OCTOBER 14, 1986 <br /> <br />Industrial buildings, under a single ownership and situated on an <br />undivided parcel of land, may receive water service through a single <br />service connection and a single meter, provided that the owner of <br />the buildings pays all connection fees to secure an appropriately <br />sized service connection. <br /> <br />Apartment buildings, mobile home courts and unified housing projects <br />developed and operated in conformance with the City's zoning ordi- <br />nance may receive water service through a single service connection <br />and a single meter, provided: <br /> <br />a. That the facility is under a single ownership; <br /> <br />b. That the owner of the facility pays all connection fees <br />to provide an appropriately sized service connection; <br /> <br />c. That the owner pay a water rate for each apartment, <br />living unit, or usable mobile home space as though each <br />apartment, living unit or mobile home space were <br />separately metered and in accordance with the City's <br />water rate schedule for 3/4 inch metering regardless of <br />the master meter size. <br /> <br />Completing an action initiated by Council at its August 12th meeting, Council <br /> <br />approved--for City Manager Brown's execution--a deed by which the City conveys <br /> <br />to the Virginia Museum of Natural History Foundation (formerly The Boaz <br /> <br />Foundation), without cost, part of the former Joseph Martin Elementary School <br /> <br />property (including building and consisting of 2.88 acres of land), upon the <br /> <br />conditions that (1) the Museum assumes all maintenance costs of the building <br /> <br />and grounds, (2) the property will revert to City ownership in the event the <br /> <br />Museum ceases to exist, and (3) the Museum has the right to negate the rever- <br /> <br />sion clause by paying to the City an amount equal to the property's fair-market <br /> <br />value, excluding fair-market value of improvements made by the Museum to the <br /> <br />property after date of the aforesaid deed of conveyance. <br /> <br />Council took no action on City Manager Brown's recommendations that various <br /> <br />charges made for the use of the local National Guard Armory be increased. <br /> <br />Council, meanwhile, expressed a preference that current use charges be <br /> <br />unchanged (i.e., not be increased) because it is a community facility of which <br /> <br />greater use by the community should be encouraged and, to this end, suggested <br />
