34~

TUESDAY, AUGUST 12, 1986

~

30, 1986) by and between Bob White's Chevyland, Dorn-Will Development Corpo-
ration, and the City of Martinsville, by which the City subordinates its option
to Dorn-Will Development Corporation until the 40th day following July 8, 1986
(at 5:00 P.M.), provided that Dorn-Will has filed its application for a certi-
ficate of need (approval) to allow Dorn-Will to construct a nursing home
facility on said property, with a target date of July 30, 1987, being estab-
lished for the commencement of construction of said facility. Said option
agreement further provides that, should Dorn-Will fail to meet these require-
ments or conditions, the City shall have the right to purchase the property
from Dorn-Will for the sum of $117,500.00, plus recording and legal fees.

-

Council acknowledged "with thanks" a Personnel Office Report for the fiscal

year ended June 30, 1986, as prepared by J. Michael Grubbs, Assistant to the

City Manager.

Council also acknowledged receipt of a notice that the Pittsylvania County

Community Action Agency has established a "satellite" community action office

in Martinsville, at 30 Fayette Street.

And, Council acknowledged receipt of a report entitled, "Urban System

Construction Program", fiscal years 1987 through 1992, reflecting allocations

for and costs of various street-highway improvement projects both in
Martinsville and in southwestern Virginia cities, with City Manager Brown
indicating that quite likely the City's "Spruce Street Project" will be

accelerated somewhat over the schedule shown in the Six-year program.
