<br />2~'?4 <br /> <br />TUESDAY, MAY 13, 1986 <br /> <br />,- <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Martinsville, Virginia, <br />in regular meeting assembled, that the Zoning Map of the City of <br />Martinsville be--and is hereby--amended to the extent that Lot No. <br />11 located at 701 Starling Avenue is hereby rezoned from R-6 <br />Residential to P-2 Professional. <br /> <br />BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED by said Council that, an emergency existing, <br />this ordinance shall be in force on and after May 14, 1986. <br /> <br />Upon motion, duly seconded and unanimously carried, Council recommended that the West <br /> <br />,"-' <br /> <br />Piedmont Planning District Commission ".... .make a favorable comment....." on the <br /> <br />following applications now before the Commission for clearinghouse review: <br /> <br />A. By the Virginia Department of Highways & Transportation <br />regarding the Department's Highway Planning & Research <br />Program for FY'87; <br /> <br />B. By the National Council on Aging, Inc., to provide sub- <br />sidized part-time community employment for low-income <br /> <br />persons; <br /> <br />C. By the Virginia Department for the Aging, to provide <br />subsidized part-time community employment for low- <br />income persons (age 55 and above); <br /> <br />D. By "Green Thumb, Incorporated", to provide subsidized <br />part-time community employment for low-income persons <br />(age 55 and above); and <br /> <br />E. By The City of Lynchburg (Virginia) for its Airport <br />Terminal Area Development Program. <br /> <br />(NOTE: As indicated, all members of Council voted and <br />recommended that the WPPDC make "favorable <br />comment" on each of the foregoing applications; <br />however, Councilman Groden asked for additional <br />information to be supplied him on foregoing <br />items "C" and "D"). <br /> <br />Council took no action on and/or continued for further consideration an amendment-- <br /> <br />proposed and approved by the West Piedmont Planning District Commission--to the WPPDC <br /> <br />Metropolitan Regional Comprehensive Water & Wastewater Disposal Plan, as an update <br /> <br />thereto, to reflect an increase from 4MGD to 6MGD in the capacity of the Henry County <br />
