34 TUESDAY, MARCH 25, 1986 City Manager Brown reported that he, Councilman Groden, and Finance Director Richard Fitts recently examined with City Treasurer John W. Bouldin, Jr., the on- going operations of the Treasurer's office and that the recommendations set forth in the study report recently prepared by Manning, Perkinson, Floyd & Com- pany, CPA's, relating to said operations, are being complied with for the most part and (that) compliance with the few remaining recommendations will soon be achieved. In acknowledging receipt of this report with appreciation, Council commended Treasurer Bouldin for his cooperation and successful efforts in this matter. Council unanimously agreed to include in the City's forthcoming 1986-87 budget the sum of $3,702.00 for the City's membership (dues) in the Virginia Municipal League for said year, pursuant to the League's recent notice of an increase of 7~% in membership dues. In tentative acceptance of a recommendation (of approval) from the City's Plan- ning Commission, Council unanimously called for a duly-advertised public hearing to be conducted by Council at its forthcoming April 8th meeting on a petition filed by Mrs. Pauline Lawson seeking the rezoning from R-6 Residential to P-2 Professional of Lot A situated at 313 Mulberry Road (Extension). Pursuant to a request filed by The Honorable Junius P. Warren, Judge of the Juvenile & Domestic Relations District Court, and subject to compliance with statutory requirements governing the amending of budgets, with the required pub- lic hearing thereon scheduled for Council's forthcoming April 8th meeting, Council unanimously appropriated the sum of $3,160.00 to finance the cost of certain im- provements--not heretofore scheduled--in the basement area of City Hall (Municipal
