<br />",. - <br /> <br />.. <br /> <br />23: <br /> <br />TUESDAY, MARCH 25, 1986 <br /> <br />necessary that a request by Council resolution be made in order for <br />the Department to consider said additions; now, therefor, <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED, by the Council of the City of Martinsville, Virginia, <br />in regular session assembled this 25th day of March, 1986, that it <br />hereby requests the Virginia Department of Highways and Transportation <br />to add as eligible mileage for street maintenance payments 0.2 lane <br />miles for Lavinder Street and 0.1 land miles for Salem Street as shown <br />on attached Form U-1, both street being located in and maintained by <br />the City of Martinsville. <br /> <br />,- <br /> <br />Council unanimously approved, for City Manager Brown's execution, a quit-claim deed <br /> <br />by which the City conveys to the Virginia Department of Highways & Transportation <br /> <br />all of the City's easements and rights-of-way in, under, and along State Route 858 <br /> <br />(Sunset Drive, outside the City's corporate limits) in exchange for a permit from <br /> <br />said State agency which will allow the City to operate its water/sewer systems along <br /> <br />said State Route 858 for the purposes of installing, maintaining, and/or removing <br /> <br />City water/sewer mains along and from said Route 858. <br /> <br />Council also unanimously approved of the sale of a tract of land in the City's <br /> <br />Industrial Park, said tract consisting of approximately 10.2411 acres, to Piedmont <br /> <br />Trust Bank, Trustee for the Frith Trust (U/A dated June 23, 1970) and for the Ray <br /> <br />Frith Family Trust (U/A dated December 28, 1970), for the sum of $35,843.85 (at <br /> <br />- <br /> <br />$3,500.00 per acre), of which sum the City will receive $30,723.30 and the Mar- <br /> <br />tinsville-Henry County Economic Development Corporation will receive $5,120.55, said <br /> <br />acreage being the residue of the original site recently sold to WOMETCO. In so <br /> <br />doing, Council authorized City Manager Brown to execute a deed conveying said prop- <br /> <br />erty to the purchaser, to which deed will be attached restrictive covenants as have <br /> <br />been heretofore attached to other deeds of sale of City-owned tracts of land within <br /> <br />the City's Industrial Park. <br />
