The Piedmont Regional Community Services ("Chapter 10") Board (Mr. <br />Ottis Birge, Executive Director, who estimated that 27% of this <br />agency's total budget of $2,283,983.00, or some $616,000.00, is the <br />cost of serving City of Martinsville residents, whereas the agency's <br />contribution request of the City is $39,199.00, or 5% increase over <br />that contributed by the City for 1986-87); <br /> <br />6. Citizens Against Family Violence (Ms. Judy Hughes, with the same <br />request of $3,000.00 as the last two years while patient-load has <br />increased from III to 176); <br /> <br />7. Piedmont Seniors of Virginia, Inc. (Ms. Alice Canupp, whose request <br />was the same as for 1986-87, or $1,167.00, except for the 1986-87 <br />supplementary appropriation of $5,000.00 to be applied toward the cost <br />of a new motor vehicle); <br /> <br />8. The City Treasurer's Office (Mr. John W. Bouldin, Jr., City <br />Treasurer) ; <br /> <br />9. The Office of the City's Commissioner of the Revenue (Mr. J. Ronnie <br />Minter, Commissioner of the Revenue, whose request included the new <br />sum of $9,000.00 for "direct access" equipment to connect with the <br />State's Division of Motor Vehicles for more accurate and more current <br />data on motor vehicles and their owners, and the sum of $3,800.00 for <br />two added terminals operating from and with the City's Data Processing <br />System) ; <br /> <br />10. The Office of the Clerk of Martinsville City Circuit Court (Mr. Ashby <br />R. Pritchett, Clerk, who was commended by Councilman McClain for <br />reducing expenses of this office); <br /> <br />11. The Martinsville-Henry County Rescue Squad (Mr. James Peverall, <br />Captain, whose request reflects no increase over that contributed by <br />the City for 1986~87); <br /> <br />12. The Piedmont Emergency Medical Services (Mr. Kippy Cassell, Director); <br /> <br />13. Patrick Henry Community College (Dr. Max Wingett, President; Academic <br />Dean Joe Jenkins; and Board Member Rieves S. Hodnett, former Mayor and <br />Councilman of the City of Martinsville - the 1987-88 request of the <br />City of Martinsville being $16,084.00, $9,664.00 of which would <br />represent "new askings" and to be repeated for 1988-1989 and 1989-1990 <br />to help finance the cost of replacing the present water system, now <br />plagued by water pressure problems, especially in light of physical <br />expansions going on and planned for the college); <br /> <br />14. West Piedmont Planning District Commission (Mr. Mark Henne, Executive <br />Director - no increase being sought from the City for 1987-88); <br /> <br />15. VPI Extension Service (Mr. Harry Little, representative - no increase <br />being asked for 1987-88); <br />
