<br />.).. <br /> <br />July 26, 2005 <br /> <br />Commission letter to Council dated June 28th; the motion was duly seconded <br /> <br />and carried by the following vote, all members voting: <br />Vote: 5-0. <br />Yeas: (5) Cobbe, Reynolds, Roop, Ferrill, Clark. <br /> <br />Nays: (0) None. <br /> <br />Council next considered the need to conduct a public hearing and <br /> <br />consider adoption of an Ordinance, on first reading, on a request by the Lester <br /> <br />Group, Inc. to abandon a portion of pro'perty known on Tax Map 20 of the City <br />of Martinsville as Allen Street. <br /> <br />Wayne Knox, Director of Community Development, reviewed the request <br /> <br /> <br />that has already been approved by the Planning Commission. Council Member <br /> <br /> <br />Roop expressed concern of putting a lot of business traffic into a residential <br /> <br /> <br />area. Mr. Knox indicated that there was no opposition from adjacent property <br /> <br />owners. <br /> <br />Mayor Cobbe opened the Public Hearing. There were no speakers, and <br /> <br />the Public Hearing was closed. Council Member Roop moved to approve the <br /> <br />Ordinance, on first reading; the motion was duly seconded and carried by the <br />following roll call vote, all members voting: <br />Vote: 5-0. <br />Yeas: (5) Cobbe, Reynolds, Roop, Ferrill, Clark. <br />Nays: (0) None. <br />
