A complete, competitive <br /> <br /> <br />assessment, which included a 100 and a 50 mile radius, found six. Third is a <br /> <br /> <br />marketing strategy and the EDC Board will receive a report from the O'Conner <br /> <br /> <br />Group on Thursday concerning strategies to undertake. Fourth, is tourism and <br /> <br />the EDC Board will review the results of the recent report prepared by Randall <br /> <br />Travel Marketing on Thursday. <br />Council Member Clark asked for a clarification of which lots in the Patriot <br /> <br />Center are those being prepared under the revenue sharing agreement and Fore <br /> <br />indicated he would send a map to Council. He the asked about the progress on <br /> <br />the use of the Rives Road lot and if local businesses being contacted were done <br /> <br />on a random basis. Fore indicated that some are calling the EDC Office and <br /> <br /> <br />others they are selecting. We are trying to work with larger firms first like <br /> <br /> <br />furniture. Council Member Ferrill asked if all local companies know about the <br /> <br /> <br />plans to contact them and Fore said they are trying to get the message out. <br /> <br /> <br />Council Member Clark asked about the recent tourism study and how do <br /> <br /> <br />you feel the EDC fits in. Fore said that implementation should be with the EDC <br /> <br /> <br />office because they have included funding for it. <br /> <br /> <br />Council Member Roop asked if there is any program in place to keep in <br /> <br /> <br />contact on a regular basis with private individuals who own existing buildings. <br /> <br /> <br />Fore said a plan is not in place yet and the challenge is to decide which buildings <br /> <br /> <br />are marketable and those that are not. Council Member Roop expressed support <br /> <br /> <br />of the shell building effort saying that we have lost two years already. He asked if <br /> <br /> <br />a funding strategy will be a part of the report and Fore replied no. That will be <br />
