"Reserved 1", "Reserved 2", or some other appropriate but nondescript nomenclature to
reduce the ability of the public to identify or link building employees with specific
parking locations.

Construct a doorway at the bottom of the steps leading to the back hallway. Currently it
is possible for someone to enter the building, walk through the basement and come up the
back steps to the Circuit Court Judge's office and Jail area undetected. The doorway
along with security access hardware (card reader) will require an appropriate ill card for
access up the steps, Panic hardware on the door will allow exiting to occur from the
second floor through the doorway in the event of an emergency,

Install security cameras in the basement. Over the years the basement space has been
totally developed resulting in an interior core of office/court space surrounded by
connecting hallways, The basement area is isolated with limited foot traffic and the lack
of clear visibility of all the hallways, especially the rear hallway adjacent to storage
rooms and maintenance supply areas causes concern. Given the current use of the
interior core of office space (Commonwealth Attorney's office and J & D
Court/Clerk/Judge's office), some form of monitoring is needed for the areas accessible
to the public, Security cameras will allow building personnel (Sheriffs Office) to
monitor pedestrian traffic along the hallways and to take appropriate action in the event
suspicious activity occurs.

Revise internal signage. Over the years signs have been added and/or moved around to
accommodate changing uses in the building, resulting in several different styles and
colors of internal signage. All of the existing signage will be reviewed and a consistent
color/style and theme will be developed to provide better clarity, consistency, and
uniformity in directional signs for the public.

Estimate of Costs

Construct front handicapped ramp approx. 35 feet long, handrail, ADA compliant -
$10,000.

Change rear (south) and police-side (west) doors to restricted access doors. Lock/unlock
mechanism & hardware, card reader, wiring to remote site (Sheriffs Dept.), employee ill
cards - $10,000,

Rearrange parking, new signs for reserved parking spaces - by City.

Construct doorway first floor to second floor, rear hallway, card access - $8,000

Install security cameras in basement - $15,000,

3
