Building and Grounds Status Report <br />Page 4 <br /> <br />The Board/Conference Room is too small to adequately conduct meetings, especially if <br />the number ofatlendees exceeds fifteen (15). The heating, ventilation, and air <br />conditioning (HVAC) is either inadequate or is malfunctioning, as it becomes very warm <br />in the room during meetings. <br /> <br />There are eighty-four (84) offices in the facility. Forty-five (45) or 53.6% are open ones. <br />Thirty-nine (39) or 46.4% are dosed. Confidentiality and privacy are compromised. <br /> <br />(E) Other department wide space issues include more needed space for files/storage, <br />separate entrance for employees and better handicap accessibility. <br /> <br />8afe~y <br /> <br />(A) Please refer to the attached Fire Inspection Report (# 1) conduct~t on July 22, 2004 <br />by the Martinsville Fire and EMS Departmeat. Ofthe thirty-nine (39) issues recognized <br />that do not conform to the Fire Code, tea (10) or 25.6% were directly elated to the need <br />for more adequate space. AIl ofthe listed deficieacies, other than some related to space, <br />are presently being addressed by the Building and Grounds Committee and the Director. <br />The inspection was requested by the Building and Grounds Committee. <br /> <br />(B) Other safety issues, either observed, submitted in narrative form by personnel and/or <br /> <br />by photosraphs include HVAC system, floors, carpets and rest rooms. <br /> <br />(1) HVAC: Written comments f~om personnel stale there is improper nh' <br /> <br />circulation, inconsistent heating and cooling, noticeable dust panicles and the onset of <br /> <br /> <br />
